Swimming with dolphins is a great experience.
While in many places like in egypt the dolphins are under heavy pressure, here, in the open sea of Pico Island the snorkeling with dolphins is sustainable.
Here we do not disturb the animals and they are free to swim whereever they want. Also we have strong regulations about how to operate with whales and dolphins.

45 minutes with Mako and Blue sharks.
Yesterday was a great day for shark diving at Pio. Andy Stelter got a massive Mako shark for more than 40 minutes and a big Blue came in as well. What a great experience and what a pevilege to meet some of the last remaining of their species ……

Time for sharks. September has been a great month for us to see Blue Sharks. The spot near to Madalena was good every single time. The waiting time while chumming was longer than in the years before and it became a bug previlege to see the Blue sharks, as they are highly overfished. This year was a complicated year for us to see sharks.
The El Nino pushed the warm water up to the continetal shelf. Beaches around Lisbon were closed and at Madeira Island as well because of Mako sharks.
But since 4 days the warm water is moving south and we now have normal sea temperatures for this time of the year. We can see the sea creatures turning back to normal !

The chance to see Blue Sharks is getting less and less. But around the Azores there is still the chance.
